How cute are these two?

I seemed to be cursed with my photo shoots lately - if I schedule one, you can bet Southern California will experience a prolonged June Gloom kind of day. That's the kind of day I had at the beach with Kate + Luke. We FINALLY saw the sun, but it was after 6pm.



I learn something with every photo shoot, and this was no exception - lesson number 1: I need to bring my "A" game when it comes to convincing a 2 year old boy that taking photos is WAY more fun than running up the pier, playing in the sand, etc. But after a spirited game of hide and seek, me + Luke = good buddies. Next time I'll have a plan, though...

Anyway, here are some of my favorites:




I learned from Brooklyn's photo shoot a few weeks back that an accessory for a photo shoot can work out really well - this time I tried a bunch of balloons, because what kid doesn't like balloons? Kate loved them! Thankfully, Kate held onto the balloons the entire time, but when Luke got a hold of them, the balloons quickly parted company with us, bringing on some tears...lesson number 2: don't forget to attach said balloons to a rubber band or something to tighten around child's wrist.



We took an ice cream break here. After lots of running and eating we ended our photo shoot under the pier:

Finally, after lots of playing, running, eating and hiding & seeking, it was time to go home...


Luke + mommy. This is probably one of my favorites from the day, because it's the photo I wish I had of me with my girls...
